What is the best dog food for the smallest dogs?
IMPORTANT: She has trouble chewing her Purina Little Bites, so she just swallows it. Can anyone recommend a food that's easier for little teeth to break up?
She gets wet food at dinner time, but I like to have a little dry available for her for while I'm not at home.
Answer: Royal Canin makes breed specefic food, good for small mouths in small dogs. I used to have our toy poodle on that, but had to drive clear across town to get it. I have always loved Nutro, and now I have her on NUtro natural choice sensitive stomach( puppy). The kibble size is very small and she has no trouble chewing them. Nutro is excellent food, and royal canin is good too! It may just take some experimenting to find one that works for you. I would NOT just go to soft food, as that is bad for dog's teeth and can cause periodontal diesease. :-)
