What is the best dog breed for first time dog owners?
Okay this is for the people saying it depends on my lifestyle, size of home, etc. Well, I don't really want to talk about life style but I do live in a 2 floor 1 family house, and I have a small backyard, and I live in a neighborhood with lots of small children.
Thanks for all the great answers, but I just have one more question whats a good website where I can get more info on a specific dog breed.
Answer: I would suggest not necessarily a particular breed but go to the local Humane Society and check out some of the older dogs. Choose a dog that has got some basic training if possible and one that is calm and happy to see you. I have had some great dogs that were rescue dogs, I hope this works as well for you as it did for me.
That will give you good experience to learn about dogs and later on you will be better able to deal with a rambunctious puppy who needs more attention, exercise and training.
